- Submit for approval sends a draft to the approvers when an approval rule covers budgets (Chapter 14 — rules match on the budget's total planned expense). With no rule, submitting approves the budget at once. Approvers decide on Budgets → Approvals, where the budget rules are managed too. While it waits, Withdraw brings it back to draft.
- An approved budget is read-only and is in force for its dates.
- Two approved budgets for the same scope can't budget the same account for overlapping dates: spending would be counted against both. Revise the existing budget instead.
- Revise makes a draft copy (Revision 1). The approved budget stays in force while you work on the revision; when the revision is approved it takes over and the earlier version closes. Each version stays on the list.
- Close budget (⋯ menu) takes an approved budget out of force.
