Budgets → Budget vs Actual opens the budget in force (or Budget vs actual on an approved budget, or any line on the overview).
- To date lists every profit-and-loss account with its Budget (year), Budget to date, Actual to date, Committed, Variance to date, Left this year and Used. A variance is green when it is good — spending under plan, income over plan — and red when it is not.
- By period shows each period's actual (plus committed, in grey) against its budget; Running total adds the periods up as you go.
- Accounts with spending but nothing budgeted are marked Not budgeted.
- Click an actual figure to see the ledger lines behind it, or a committed figure to see the open purchase orders; each opens its document.
Committed amounts follow the account and department on the order line, so a service line counts as well as a stock item. Requisitions have no department, so they count only against company-wide budgets. Amounts are in your base currency.
