#Adding an account
Bank, cash and credit-card accounts are accounts in your chart of accounts with the type Bank, Cash or Credit Card. There are two ways to add one:
- Connect a live bank feed. On Banking → Bank Accounts click Connect (or Connect your first bank). A secure bank-connection window opens; choose your bank and sign in. Each account you select is created in the chart of accounts and tagged Plaid feed, and its transactions start flowing in.
- Add a manual account. Go to Accounting → Chart of Accounts → New account, choose the Account type (Bank, Cash or Credit Card), give it a name and currency, and save (Chapter 9). Manual accounts show a Manual tag; you bring transactions in by importing statements (section 8.4) or by recording payments, transfers and deposits.
#The Bank Accounts page
Each account is a row with Account, Type, Last sync, Review (a badge with the number of transactions waiting) and Balance. Click a row to open the account. At the top: Transfer (record a transfer between two of your accounts), Sync all (pull the latest transactions from every connected feed — Synced — 3 new transactions or All up to date) and Connect.
The ⋯ menu on a connected account offers Refresh feed, Pause feed, Resume feed and Disconnect. Disconnecting removes only the feed; the account and its history stay in your books. Manual accounts show Manual account — no feed.
