A USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner types what it reads and presses Enter, so every scan box in the app works with one: click into it and scan. Each box says what a scan does; the last five scans show beside it, green for a hit, red for a miss, with a beep either way.
| Where | What a scan does |
|---|---|
| Purchase order → Receive items | +1 on that item's line (clamped at what remains). An unknown code offers + Add item. |
| Stock count | +1 on the item's line (its uncounted line first); an item not on the sheet is added. |
| Pick list | +1 picked on the first line of that item still to pick; Save picks saves it. |
| Bin move | adds a line for the item (or +1 on its line); a serial number adds that unit from the bin it sits in. |
| Adjustment | fills the item; scanning it again adds 1 to the quantity. |
A scan box recognises an item barcode, a serial number (it counts as its item and remembers where the unit is) and a bin code. Item barcodes are set on the item (Barcode in the item drawer) or imported in bulk (Inventory → Items → Import barcodes).
#Labels
- Bin labels: Settings → Inventory → Warehouses → Bins → Print bin labels prints one label per active bin with its code as a barcode.
- Item labels: Inventory → Items → Print labels prints a label for each item on the current page: name, SKU and the barcode (the SKU when the item has no barcode).
Both open a sheet you print from the browser (Code 128, the symbology every scanner reads by default); the page chrome is left off the paper.
